Unlike other forms of writing, such as academic or professional writing, mindful writing is not concerned with the opinions or reactions of an audience.

When writing mindfully, the goal is not to produce a polished or finished product that others will read. Instead, the focus is on the writing process and the benefits of exploring one’s thoughts and emotions on paper. By not presupposing an audience, mindful writing allows writers to be sincere and authentic without worrying about how others will receive or perceive their words. This can be a liberating experience, as it frees the writer from the need to conform to external expectations or standards. For this reason, there will be no feedback on your writing, but our instructor will be available to provide guidance and support throughout the course. If you wish to share any of your writings with us or with some of your classmates will be entirely your decision and not a requirement of the course.
